Kdiff3 For Mac
Setting up kdiff3 as the Default Merge Tool for git on Windows. You can set up any merge tool in git to handle conflicts. When I used SVN, winmerge was my tool of choice. But since switching to git, it left me to seek out a replacement that does 3-way merging. After searching around it seems that kdiff3 is one of the best 3-way merge tools out. Kdiff3 0.9 for Mac is free to download from our application library. This free Mac app is an intellectual property of Joachim Eibl. Commonly, this program's installer has the following filename: kdiff3-0.9.95-mac-universal-2.zip. This Mac download was checked by our built-in antivirus and was rated as clean. This program's bundle is identified.

Kdiff is one my favorite merge tools around. But how to set this up with git?
- Download kdiff OS X package from their website(sourceforge)
- Install the app in application folder
- Fire up your terminal
Add a symbolic link in the path
$ ln -s /Applications/kdiff3.app/Contents/MacOS/kdiff3 /usr/local/bin/kdiff3. Note that kdiff3 is name is important because that's the name idenitified by Git as one of the supported known tools. If you're choosing a different name or not wanted to add kdiff in the path, choose the alternative methodEnter
$ git config --global merge.tool kdiff3Now simply start merging
Fire up ~/.gitconfig in your favorite editor and put the following there. (This also put KDiff as diff tool)
